Yama - How to improve relationships - Satya

The principles of Yama help to improve one's relationship with others. They also create subtle vibrations in the mind which help to meditate.

Satya is the second principle of Yama and one of the most important ones. Satya means to guide all thought, speech, and action towards the welfare of others. It is much deeper than plainly being truthful because it implies the idea of welfare in every word.

This meditation class was given by Dada Rainjitananda at the Corona Ashram on Thursday, 8/30/07:

It is very satisfying when one can maintain a good relationship with others. Specially in today's society where people are going through an extra stress due to the fast pace of life relationships have suffered. This makes the ancient Yogi principles of Yama very useful to the modern individual besides the popular Yoga Asanas. This set of five principles comprise the first step in the classic system of Astaunga Yoga (The Eight Steps of Yoga).
